Tartarate Resistant Acid Phosphatase (TRAcP/TRAP5) [ACP5/1070]

Description Tartrate resistant acid phosphatase (TRAcP) is a basic, iron-binding protein with high activity towards phosphoproteins, ATP and 4 nitrophenyl phosphate. Expression of TRAcP is reported to be increased in the spleen and monocytes of individuals with Gaucher’s disease, splenocytes and circulating white cells of individuals with hairy cell leukemia, spleens of individuals with Hodgkin disease, and the sera of individuals undergoing active bone turnover. Elevated levels are also reported to be associated with various B-cell and T-cell leukemias and lymphomas, placental decidual cells, syncytiotrophoblasts, and some macrophages distributed throughout maternal and embryonic tissues. The histochemical identification of hairy cell leukemia via tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase assay has been a standard for over two decades. Anti-TRAcP labels the cells of hairy cell leukemia (HCL) with a high degree of sensitivity and specificity. Worthy also of mention in this regard are anti-annexin A1 and

    Tau (4-repeat isoform RD4) [1E1/A6]

Description Tau is a microtubule-associated protein. In adult human brain, 6 tau isoforms are expressed, which are divided into two groups, 3-repeat (3R) and 4-repeat (4R) tau isoforms. Tau assembles into insoluble, filamentous, and hyperphosphorylated inclusions in many neurodegenerative diseases, and different tau isoforms are accumulated in the diseased brains, namely, 6 tau isoforms in AD, 3R tau isoforms in Pick’s disease, and 4R tau isoforms in PSP and CBD. Therfore, isoform-specific tau antibodies are useful tools for immunohistochemical and biochemical studies of tau species in diseased brains. Tau deposited in AD is extensively deamidated at N279. This anti-4R specifically recognizes 4R tau isoforms regardless of deamidation and strongly stained tau in AD brain. (Shipping Cost: €200.00)

    Tau [Tau13]

Description Tau is a heterogeneous microtubule-associated protein that promotes and stabilizes microtubule assembly, especially in axons. Six isoforms with different amino-terminal inserts and different numbers of tandem repeats near the carboxy-terminus have been identified, and tau is hyperphosphorylated at approximately 25 sites by ERK, GSK-3 and CDK5. Phosphorylation decreases the ability of tau to bind to microtubules. Neurofibrillary tangles are a major hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease and these tangles are bundles of paired helical filaments composed of hyperphosphorylated tau. In particular, phosphorylation of Ser396 by GSK-3 or CDK5 destabilizes microtubules in Alzheimer’s disease. (Shipping Cost: €200.00)

    Thomsen-Friedenreich Antigen / CD176 [SPM320]

Description Recognizes a disaccharide epitope, Gal1-3GalNAc, of Thomsen-Friedenreich (TF) antigen. It is specific for both anomeric forms of the disaccharide (TF and TF, including related structures on the glycolipid) and shows no cross-reactivity with sialylated glycophorin. The Thomsen-Friedenreich antigen acts as an oncofetal antigen, with low expression in normal adult tissues but increasing to fetal levels of expression in hyperplasia or malignancy. It is considered as a pan-carcinoma marker. This MAb is capable to agglutinate desialylated red blood cells.During metastasis, the ability of malignant cells to form multicellular aggregates via homotypic or heterotypic aggregation and their adhesion to the endothelium are critical. The tumor-associated carbohydrate Thomsen-Friedenreich antigen (Gal-GalNAc) is involved in tumor cell adhesion and tissue invasion. It also causes an immune response, and overexpression of the antigen causes cancer cells to be more sensitive to natural killer cell lysi

    Thrombospondin 1 [A6.1]

Description The Thrombospondin proteins (TSP 1-4) compose a family of glycoproteins that are involved in cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix signaling. These extracellular, cell-surface proteins form complexes of both homo- and heteromultimers. Thrombospondins play a role in development, aggregation of platelets, adhesion and migration of cells and progression of cells through the growth cycle. Thrombospondin 1 is released from platelets in response to Thrombin stimulation and is a transient component of the extracellular matrix of developing and repairing tissues. Thrombospondin 2 shares a high degree of homology with TSP 1, and is thought to have overlapping but unique functions. Thrombospondin 3 is a developmentally regulated heparin binding protein. Thrombospondin 4 is neuronally expressed and stimulates neurite outgrowth. (Shipping Cost: €200.00)

    Thyroglobulin [2H11+6E1]

Description Thyroglobulin (TG) is a dimeric glycoprotein specific to the thyroid gland which belongs to the type-B carboxylesterase/lipase family. It is the precursor of the iodinated thyroid hormones triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4). Variations in TG are associated with susceptibility to autoimmune thyroid disease type 3, and defective or impaired TG synthesis usually results in congenital goitrous hypothyroidism, virtual absence of TG in thyroid tissue, and the presence of an elevated concentration of iodoalbumin. The final result of these abnormalities is a decreased rate of T3 and T4 synthesis. Thyroglobulin is found in normal thyroid and differentiated thyroid carcinoma cells but not undifferentiated thyroid. Thyroglobulin is a useful marker for identification of tumors with thyroid origin. (Shipping Cost: €200.00)
