MDR1/ABCB1/P-Glycoprotein [D-11]
Description Multi-Drug Resistance Marker (P-Glycoprotein) is a 170 kD cell membrane protein of the multi-drug resistance gene, MDR-1. Studies have linked the presence of P-Glycoprotein with resistance to a wide variety of chemotherapeutic agents. P-Glycoprotein is also found in various concentrations in most normal tissues, suggesting that the primary role for this protein is in normal secretion of physiological metabolites. (Shipping Cost: €200.00) Host Mouse Application Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Reactivity Human -

Melanoma gp100/PMEL17/SILV [HMB45]
Description Metastatic melanoma is often confused with a variety of poorly differentiated carcinomas, sarcomas, and large cell lymphomas. Clone HMB45 reacts with fetal and neonatal melanocytes but not with normal adult melanocytes, junctional nevus cells but not with intradermal nevi, hence showing specificity for detection of melanocytic tumors. The panel of tumor markers, most commonly used in conjunction with HMB45, for evaluation of melanoma includes S-100 protein LCA, CEA, and EMA, as well as vimentin, an intermediate filament found in both melanomas and sarcomas. (Shipping Cost: €200.00) Host Mouse Application Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Reactivity Human -

Melanoma PNL2 [PNL2]
Description PNL2 antibody labels intraepidermal nevi while the dermal component of compound nevi is largely non-reactive with anti-PNL2. PNL2, MART-1/Melan-A and HMB45 antibodies stain most clear cell sarcoma cells and a few cells in angiomyolipomas and lymphangioleiomyomatosis. Non-melanocytic lesions found to be positive with this marker include PEComas and melanotic schwannoma. Anti-PNL2 is a useful antibody for the identification of melanomas and clear cell sarcomas. Differential diagnosis is aided by the results from a panel of antibodies, including antibodies against HMB45, MART-1, Tyrosinase, and MiTF. The differential diagnosis between benign nevi and malignant melanoma is sometimes difficult, and malignant melanoma may mimic other neoplasms, such as undifferentiated carcinoma, sarcoma or large cell lymphoma. PNL2 is more sensitive for metastatic melanoma (87%) than HMB45 (76%) and MART-1 (82%). A panel of PNL2, S-100 and HMB45 is a highly sensitive and specific marker for mucosal melanoma Host Mouse Application Immunocytochemistry (ICC),Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Reactivity Human, Mouse, Dog -

Mesothelial Cell (Mesothelial Marker) [HBME-1]
Description HBME-1 is an antimesothelial monoclonal antibody that recognizes an unknown antigen on microvilli of mesothelioma cells. It stains normal mesothelial cells as well as epithelial mesotheliomas in a thick membrane pattern. This antibody also reacts with some (20-30%) carcinomas showing cytoplasmic immunostaining. Mesothelin (Mesothelial Marker) [MSLN/2131]
Description The mesothelin gene encodes a 69-kDa precursor protein that is processed to a 40-kDa glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored protein, the mature mesothelin, present on the cell surface. Its biological function is not known, but recent studies have shown that it forms a strong and specific complex with MUC16; a binding which has been suggested to be the basis of ovarian cancer metastasis. Mesothelin is present on normal mesothelial cells lining the pleura, peritoneum, and pericardium. In tumors, overexpression of Mesothelin has been observed in mesotheliomas, and other tumors including ovarian, pancreatic carcinomas, and cholangiocarcinoma. By using immunotoxin targeting immunotherapy, mesothelin has also been reported as a new therapeutic target in various types of cancers, such as human cholangiocarcinoma.
