    ERG [MD188R]

Description ERG, the ETS related gene, belongs to the ETS family that plays important roles in cell development, differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis and tissue remodeling. This family of transcription factors contains approximately 30 members that share a highly conserved DNA-binding domain (ETS domain) and differs from each other in other domains (such as absence or presence of the Pointed/SAM domain) and are thus distinguished in sub-families. The aberrant expression of several ETS proteins is involved in tumor development and progression. ERG belongs to the Erg/Fli-1 sub-family. Its involvement in human cancers has been widely studied. ERG is linked to normal processes such as mesoderm formation and is found to form functional complexes with Jun/Fos, with the resulting ternary complexes regulating expression of proteins such as metalloprotease-1 (MMP-1) and MMP-3. EWS-ERG, or EWS-Fli-1 fusion, is a characteristic of Ewing’s sarcoma. TMPRSS2-ERG fusion, which occurs on account of transloca

    Galectin-3 [B2C10]

Description Galectin-3 is a 31 kD beta-galactosidase binding lectin. It has been associated with binding to the basement membrane glycoprotein laminin. Anti-Galectin-3 has been demonstrated to be valuable in differentiating between benign and malignant thyroid neoplasms in both histologic sections and fine needle aspiration biopsy material. Anti-Galectin-3 antibody has also been useful in identifying anaplastic large cell lymphoma. (Shipping Cost: €200.00)

    GFAP [GA-5]

Description Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) is the subunit of the glial specific “intermediate” filament that include desmin filaments in smooth muscle, vimentin filaments in cultured fibroblasts, keratin filaments in epithelium and neurofilaments in neural cells. GFAP is a major product of astrocytic differentiation. Compared with special stains currently used to identify an astroglial component in brain tumors, GFAP staining is more sensitive. Further, the immunohistochemical staining method is useful in demonstrating reactive astrocytes, whether secondary to a brain tumor or to any other neuro-pathological condition. Heat Shock Protein (HSP27) [G3.1]

Description HSP 27 also known as 24K estrogen-regulated protein or HSP 28 is a small heat shock protein that has been shown to correlate with the expression of estrogen-receptor. Immunohistochemical studies of HSP 27 has shown that it is localized mainly in the female reproductive tract and in ER and PR positive breast tumor cell lines. Increased levels of HSP 27 have been shown to correlate with the presence of ER and PR in human breast tumor biopsy samples. (Shipping Cost: €200.00)

Heat Shock Protein (HSP60) (Mitochondrial Marker) [LK1]

Description Recognizes a 60kDa protein, identified as the heat shock protein 60 (hsp60). Its epitope is localized between aa 383-447 of human hsp60. A wide variety of environmental and pathophysiological stressful conditions trigger the synthesis of a family of proteins known as heat shock proteins (hsps), more appropriately called as stress response proteins (srps). hsp60 is a potential antigen in a number of autoimmune diseases. In human arthritis and in experimentally induced arthritis in animals, disease development coincides with the development of immune reactivity directed against not only bacterial hsp60, but also against its mammalian homolog. Clone LK1, unlike LK2, recognizes only the mammalian (not bacterial) hsp60 and is useful in distinguishing hsp60 from mammals and bacteria. (Shipping Cost: €200.00)

    Heat Shock Protein (HSP70)/HSC70 [W27]

Description The HSP 70 family is composed of four highly conserved proteins: HSP 70, HSC 70, GRP 75 and GRP 78. These proteins serve a variety of roles: they act as molecular chaperones facilitating the assembly of multi-protein complexes, participate in the translocation of polypeptides across cell membranes and to the nucleus and aid in the proper folding of nascent polypeptide chains. All members of the family, except HSP 70, are constitutively expressed in primate cells. HSP 70 expression is strongly induced in response to heat stress. HSP 70 and HSC 70 play key roles in the cytosolic endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondrial import machinery and are found in both the cytosol and nucleus of mammalian cells. Both HSP 70 and HSC 70 are involved in the chaperoning of nascent polypeptide chains and in protecting cells against the accumulation of improperly folded proteins. GRP 78 is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum, where it receives imported secretory proteins and is involved in the folding a
