MUC6 [CLH5]
Description Mucin 6 (Muc-6 Glycoprotein). Mucins are heavily glycosylated glycoproteins, which constitute the major components of mucus which cover the surface of epithelial tissues. Nine distinct epithelial mucin genes (Muc-1, 2, 3, 4, 5AC, 5B, 6,7 and 8) have been identified. Various immunohistochemical and in situ hybridization studies have shown that these mucins are differentially expressed in epithelia with cell-type specificity. Muc-5AC and Muc-6 glycoproteins are the first two mucins found in superficial epithelium and Muc-6 glycoprotein is found in the deep glands. MVH/DDX4/VASA [2F9H5]
Description MVH or DDX4 or VASA is a 724 amino acid, ATP-dependent RNA helicase that belongs to the DEAD-box family. MVH is specifically expressed in germline cells throughout the life cycle and is undetectable in somatic tissues. In vertebrates, MVH is restricted to bisexually reproducing organisms. It is cytoplasmic and is present only in migratory primordial germ cells in the region of the gonadal ridge. On testicular sections, MVH expression is the highest in spermatogonia, reduced in spermatocytes, low in spermatids and absent in sperm. In the ovary, MVH expression is the highest in oogonia but persists throughout oogenesis. MVH has a glycine-rich N-terminus with multiple repeats of an RGG motif believed to function in RNA binding. Specifically, it regulates the translation of intricate mRNAs that are essential for differentiation. Myeloid Associated Differentiation Marker [MYADM/972]
Description Recognizes a myeloid associated differentiation antigen in the cytoplasm of mature granulocytes. It shows no reactivity with any other cell type in human tissues. Markers of myeloid cells are useful in the identification of different levels of cellular differentiation. It reacts with early precursor and mature forms of human and monkey myeloid cells. This MAb is useful for the detection of myeloid leukemias and granulocytic sarcomas. It can be used as a marker of granulocytes in normal tissues or inflammatory processes. (Shipping Cost: €200.00) Host Mouse Application Flow cytometry (FC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Reactivity Human, Macaque -

MyoD1 (Rhabdomyosarcoma Marker) [5.8A]
Description Recognizes a phosphor-protein of 45kDa, identified as MyoD1. The epitope of this antibody maps between amino acid 180-189 in the C-terminal of mouse MyoD1 protein. It does not cross react with myogenin, Myf5, or Myf6. Antibody to MyoD1 labels the nuclei of myoblasts in developing muscle tissues. MyoD1 is not detected in normal adult tissue, but is highly expressed in the tumor cell nuclei of rhabdomyosarcomas. Occasionally nuclear expression of MyoD1 is seen in ectomesenchymoma and a subset of Wilm s tumors. Weak cytoplasmic staining is observed in several non-muscle tissues, including glandular epithelium and also in rhabdomyosarcomas, neuroblastomas, Ewing s sarcomas and alveolar soft part sarcomas. Myosin Skeletal Heavy Chain Fast/MYH1 [MY-32]
Description Myosin, a 480kD protein that interacts with actin in muscle and non muscle cells, is composed of 2 identical heavy chains (about 200kD each) and 4 light chains (about 20kD each). Conventional myosin molecules consist of two major regions: tail (rod) and globular heads; they aggregate into filaments through the tail region and interact with actin and with adenosine triphosphate (ATP) through the head region. Multiple forms of myosin heavy chains exist in skeletal, smooth and cardiac muscle and in non-muscle tissues. A spectrum of skeletal muscle fiber types is found in adult skeletal muscles. The two major skeletal muscle fiber types are type I (slow-twitch) and type II (fast-twitch). Skeletal muscle type II fibers can be further subdivided into types IIa (fast red) and IIb (fast white).
