    Cytokeratin 17 [E3]

Description CK17 is an intermediate filament protein expressed in the basal cells and myoepithelial cells of complex epithelia, including glandular epithelium with myoepithelial component, transitional and pseudostratified epithelia. CK17 is a marker in the identification of breast cancer with basal phenotype. Squamous cell carcinoma is also labeled by CK17 antibody. Antibody against CK17 may be an aid in distinguishing cholangiocarcinoma (CK17+) from hepatocellular carcinoma (CK17-). In combination with MUC1, CK17 antibody has been found to be useful in distinguishing pancreatobiliary adenocarcinoma (CK17+) from extrapancreatobiliary nonmucinous adenocarcinoma (CK17-). Cytokeratin 19 [BA17]

Description Cytokeratin polypeptide 19 (CK19) is a type I intermediate filament protein that is expressed in stratified and simple-type epithelia. CK19 is synthesized mainly in embryonic and adult simple epithelia, but has also been found in non-keratinizing stratified epithelia as well. CK19 is the smallest known keratin and is remarkable in that, contrary to all other keratins, it does not have a designated partner for the formation of filaments, implying that regulation of its expression is different from other keratin-encoding genes. CK19 antibody is a useful tool for the identification of epithelial tumors. It is helpful in distinguishing hepatocellular carcinoma (CK19-) from cholangiocarcinoma (CK19+) or metastatic carcinoma in liver (CK19+). (Shipping Cost: €200.00)

    Cytokeratin 20 [Ks20.8]

Description Intermediate-sized filament (IF) protein designated cytokeratin 20 (CK20) is a major cellular protein of mature enterocytes and goblet cells commonly found in mucosal epithelium of the mammalian gastrointestinal tract. Results strongly suggest that transcriptional regulation of keratin genes in the intestinal epithelium occurs at the level of both immature and terminally differentiated epithelial cells, and is tightly regulated during both fetal development and crypt-to-villus differentiation of the intestinal epithelium. CK20 has recently been reported to be useful to distinguish between primary and metastatic lung adenocarcinoma. CK20 expression was significantly more prevalent in adenocarcinoma that originated in the GI tract than that of pulmonary or breast origin. (Shipping Cost: €200.00)

    Cytokeratin 5/8 [C-50]

Description It reacts with keratin 5 (58kDa) and keratin 8 (52.5kDa). Simple epithelia express cytokeratin 8 in combination with 18. On the other hand, basal cells of stratified epithelia express cytokeratin 5 paired with 14. This antibody therefore, reacts with a wide range of epithelia and their carcinomas. Cytokeratin Basic [AE3]

Description Twenty human keratins are resolved with two-dimensional gel electrophoresis into acidic (pI <5.7) and basic (pI >6.0) subfamilies. The acidic keratins have molecular weights of 56.5, 55, 51, 50, 50’, 48, 46, 45, and 40kDa. The basic keratin s have molecular weights of 65-67, 64, 59, 58, 56 and 52kDa. Members of acidic and basic subfamilies are found together in pairs. The composition of keratin pairs varies with cell type, differentiation status and environment. Many studies have shown the us efulness of keratins as markers in cancer research and tumor diagnosis. AE1 labels most acidic keratins; therefore, it is a broadly reactive antibody staining most epithelia and their neoplasms. AE1 is particularly suited to distinguish poorly differentiat ed carcinomas from non-epithelial neoplasms. This marker stains both normal and neoplastic cells of epithelial origin. Cytokeratin HMW [34BE12]

Description The antibody reacts with keratins 1,5,10, and 14. In normal tissue, the antibody labels squamous, ductal, and other complex epithelia. The antibody has variable positivity to adenocarcinomas. The most useful application of the antibody was described in the differential diagnosis of basal cell hyperplasia and atypical adenomatous hyperplasia of the prostate. The antibody labels benign basal cells of prostate acinibut not prostate adenocarcinoma. In thyroid neoplasm, positivity was reported to be confined to papillary carcinoma, whereas follicular neoplasms are negative. This antibody, when incorporated into a panel of antibodies, aids in the differrential diagnosis of anaplastic tumors of unknown origin. (Shipping Cost: €200.00)
